Composer

The composer sits at the bottom of the thread view. It provides a rich text editor for writing replies to customers.

Rich text editing

The composer supports the following formatting options:

• Bold — select text and click the bold button in the floating toolbar.
• Italic — select text and click the italic button in the floating toolbar.
• Links — select text and click the link button to insert a hyperlink. URLs are validated before saving. You can also edit or remove existing links by clicking on them.

Floating toolbar

When you select text in the composer, a floating toolbar appears above the selection with formatting buttons for bold, italic, and link. The toolbar positions itself automatically to stay within the editor bounds.

Auto-linking

URLs and email addresses typed into the composer are automatically detected and converted into clickable links.

File uploads

Attach files to your messages using drag-and-drop or the attachment button.

Image files are displayed inline as previews. Other file types are attached as links. A progress bar shows upload status, and the send button is disabled until all uploads complete.

Drafts

The composer automatically saves your draft as you type. Drafts are stored locally in your browser and restored when you return to the same conversation. Drafts are cleared after sending.

Sending

There are two ways to send a message:

• Click the Send button.
• Press Cmd + Enter (Mac) or Ctrl + Enter (Windows/Linux).

The send button is disabled when the composer is empty, the message exceeds 1,000 characters, or file uploads are still in progress.

Typing indicators

While you type, a typing indicator is sent to the conversation so other participants can see you are composing a reply. The indicator is cleared when you delete all text or send the message.
